WW2 US Canteen Set 1941 Dated

The WW2 US Canteen Set 1941 Dated is an original example of field equipment issued to American military personnel during the early years of the Second World War. This set typically comprises a one-quart aluminum canteen, a matching aluminum cup, and a cotton canvas cover. The canteen and cup are both dated 1941, indicating manufacture prior to the United States’ entry into World War II. The cover commonly features lift-the-dot fastening snaps and is stamped with contract and date information. Canteens from this period demonstrate the transition from earlier Model 1910 equipment and would have been used by soldiers across multiple branches of service. The aluminum construction replaced earlier stainless steel versions due to metal resource allocations during the war. This set provides a clear representation of standard issue gear at the start of U.S. involvement in World War II and is often sought after for both historical study and collections of military equipment.
