The “For the Victory Over Germany 1941-1945” medal is a Soviet World War II campaign award instituted on May 9, 1945. This full-size medal was presented to military personnel of the Red Army, Navy, and NKVD troops who participated in combat and contributed to the defeat of Nazi Germany during the Great Patriotic War. The circular brass medal features the left-facing portrait of Joseph Stalin in uniform, with the inscription “Our Cause is Just – We Have Won” along the upper edge and “1941–1945” below. The reverse side bears the inscription translating to “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945”. The medal is suspended from a standard orange and black striped pentagonal ribbon, symbolizing bravery and victory.
