The WW2 German Wound Badge Lapel Pin is a reproduction of the decoration awarded to German military personnel during the Second World War for wounds received in combat. Originally instituted in 1918 and reintroduced during World War II, the badge was given in three classes—black, silver, and gold—depending on the severity and number of wounds sustained. This lapel pin version is modeled after the black class, which recognized one or two injuries. The design features a helmet motif superimposed on a crossed swords background and encircled by an oak leaf wreath, rendered in a dark finish. Measuring approximately 16mm in diameter, the lapel pin is fitted with a pin-back fastener for attachment to civilian clothing. While originally intended as a military decoration, such pins serve today as reference items for historical research and collecting purposes. The lapel pin is a representative item illustrating personal military service recognition within the Wehrmacht during the Second World War.
