The WW2 German Silver Wound Badge was awarded to military personnel of the Wehrmacht who were wounded three or four times during combat operations. This example is accompanied by its original packet of issue, produced by the noted firm Rudolf Bachtler & Lange. The badge is die-struck in silvered metal and features the iconic central motif of a German Stahlhelm (helmet) over a crossed pair of swords, framed by an oval laurel wreath. The reverse side includes a pin and clasp assembly for uniform attachment. The included packet is marked with the maker’s name, “Rudolf Bachtler & Lange,” providing provenance and context typical of wartime award distribution. Issued between 1939 and 1945, the Silver Wound Badge formed part of a three-class series (black, silver, gold) designated by the severity and number of wounds received. This set represents a documented relic from German military history of the Second World War.
