This item is a World War II German Police Parade Bayonet, accompanied by its original scabbard and produced by Alexander Coppel, a well-documented Solingen-based manufacturer. The bayonet features a plated steel blade, typically measuring around 13 inches, with a single fuller on each side. The hilt is equipped with sculpted stag horn grips, each secured by two rivets, and incorporates an eagle and swastika Police insignia inset in the handle. The crossguard and pommel display nickel-plated finishes, consistent with police parade examples of the era. The accompanying steel scabbard retains its original black enamel paint and is fitted with a nickel throat piece. This type of bayonet was used primarily as a dress weapon by German police units and was not intended for combat use. Its design reflects the formal and ceremonial duties of the Ordnungspolizei during the Third Reich period. Maker marks for Alexander Coppel are present on the ricasso.
