The WW2 German NSDAP Political Visor Cap Cockade is an original insignia used during the period of the Third Reich. This cockade was affixed to the front of political leader visor caps worn by members of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP). It typically consists of a stamped metal construction, featuring a circular design with a central black swastika on a white background, encircled by a red enamel edge, and often backed by a silver or aluminum wreath. The cockade signified party affiliation and rank within the NSDAP’s political hierarchy. The reverse side usually includes prongs or pins for attachment to the visor cap band. Measuring approximately 2–3 cm in diameter, these cockades were part of the official uniform regulations. Their design and use are distinctive compared to military versions, reflecting the unique insignia system of the NSDAP political organizations during World War II.
