The WW2 German Mothers Cross in Bronze, full size, is a historical decoration awarded during the Third Reich era. Officially known as the Cross of Honour of the German Mother (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter), this bronze variant was presented to mothers who bore and raised four or five children. The design features a blue-enameled Maltese-style cross with a central white medallion, which displays a black swastika and the inscription “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER.” The cross is suspended from a blue and white striped ribbon. Instituted on 16 December 1938 by Adolf Hitler, the award existed in three classes: bronze, silver, and gold, corresponding to the number of children. The decoration served both as an incentive for population growth and as a recognition of motherhood in accordance with Nazi demographic policies. Original examples typically show age-related wear and period manufacturing characteristics, reflecting their historical use and significance.
