The WW2 German Hitler Youth Dagger with Scabbard, RZM Maker M7/42, is an edged weapon issued to members of the Hitler Youth during the Third Reich period. This example was manufactured by the firm of WKC, Solingen, as denoted by the RZM code M7/42 on the ricasso. The dagger features a nickel-plated steel blade with the etched motto “Blut und Ehre!” (Blood and Honor), a zinc alloy hilt, and black checkered grip plates, which are inset with the enameled Hitler Youth diamond emblem. The included steel scabbard is finished in black enamel and typically fitted with a leather strap and belt loop for attachment to the wearer’s uniform. These daggers were symbolic youth items, conferred as a sign of membership and achievement within the organization. They are of interest to collectors due to their historical association, period manufacture, and distinctive design elements representative of Third Reich youth paraphernalia.
