The WW2 Canadian Volunteer Service Medal (CVSM) Ribbon Bar represents the service and dedication of Canadian military personnel during the Second World War. Established in 1943, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal was awarded to members of the Canadian armed forces and select allied forces who voluntarily served on active duty for at least eighteen months between 3 September 1939 and 1 March 1947. The medal was issued with a distinctive ribbon, featuring a broad central green stripe flanked by narrow red, dark blue, and yellow stripes, symbolizing the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Air Force, and Royal Canadian Navy. This ribbon bar, designed to be worn on the uniform in place of the full medal, measures approximately 32 mm in width and is mounted with a metal clasp or pin on the reverse. It serves as a visual indicator of honorable wartime service and is a significant piece of Canadian military recognition from the Second World War.
