WW2 Canadian The Italy Star Full Size In Box

The Italy Star is a campaign medal awarded to Commonwealth forces for service in the Italian campaign during the Second World War. This item is a full-size, original WW2 Canadian Italy Star presented in its box. The medal features a six-pointed star made of bronze, with the Royal Cypher “GRI VI” and “THE ITALY STAR” inscribed on the obverse. The accompanying ribbon displays red, white, and green stripes, representing the colors of the Italian flag. Canadian service personnel qualified for this medal by serving in operations in Sicily or Italy between 11 June 1943 and 8 May 1945. This example retains its authentic wartime design and comes housed in its original box, as issued. The Italy Star was an important recognition of service in a significant theater of the war, and holds historical value for both collectors and researchers of Canadian military history.
