The WW2 Canadian The Burma Star Full Size Medal is an officially issued military decoration awarded for service during the Burma Campaign of the Second World War. The medal, authorized in May 1945, recognizes personnel of the British and Commonwealth forces, including Canadian service members, who served in operational areas of Burma between 11 December 1941 and 2 September 1945. It is a six-pointed bronze star, 44mm in height and 38mm in width, with the cipher of King George VI inscribed on the obverse, surmounted by a crown. The reverse side is plain. The accompanying ribbon features a central red stripe flanked by dark blue and orange stripes, symbolizing the Commonwealth forces, the British Army, and the sun. Eligibility was extended to those involved in specific operational service in Burma, China, Hong Kong, and surrounding regions. This medal represents an important piece of Canadian military history from the Second World War.
