WW2 Canadian The 1939 to 1945 Star Full Size Medal In Box

The 1939 to 1945 Star is a campaign medal authorized for issue to Commonwealth forces who served during the Second World War. This full size example is specific to Canadian service personnel and is presented in a box. The bronze six-pointed star features the crowned cypher of King George VI in the center, surrounded by a circlet bearing the inscription “The 1939–1945 Star.” The reverse is plain. The medal is suspended from a ribbon with equal stripes of dark blue, red, and light blue, representing the Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force respectively. Eligibility for the 1939-1945 Star required six months of operational service between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945. This medal was awarded to recognize service in all operational commands during the entirety of the Second World War.
