This item consists of a matched pair of World War II-era Canadian RCAF Officer’s “CANADA” shoulder titles insignia. These insignia were worn by officers of the Royal Canadian Air Force to denote national identity on battledress and service uniforms. Each title is constructed from dark blue wool with gold-yellow embroidered “CANADA” lettering, following the standard pattern adopted during the Second World War. The insignia measure approximately 10 cm in length and are designed with an arched shape, intended for stitching onto the upper sleeve. These shoulder titles were introduced as part of a broader Commonwealth policy to clearly identify national contingents within the Allied forces. Such insignia played a significant role in distinguishing Canadian personnel serving overseas. This pair shows typical wartime manufacturing features and provides a representative example of RCAF officer uniform insignia from the period 1939–1945.
