The WW2 Canadian New Brunswick Rangers Canvas Shoulder Title Insignia Single is an original cloth formation badge issued to members of the New Brunswick Rangers during the Second World War. The insignia is constructed of khaki canvas and features red embroidered lettering reading “N.B. RANGERS”. Designed to be sewn onto the upper sleeve of a battledress, the shoulder title identified the wearer’s regiment within the Canadian Army. The New Brunswick Rangers, an infantry regiment of the Non-Permanent Active Militia, contributed personnel for home defence and active overseas service during the conflict. Canvas shoulder titles were standard issue for Canadian units from 1941 onwards, reflecting wartime material shortages and the need for practical, durable insignia. The single piece offered here represents a typical example of its type, showing construction features consistent with wartime manufacture. Such insignia provide insight into regimental identity and the broader organizational structure of the Canadian armed forces during the Second World War.
