The WW2 Canadian Fort Garry Horse Canvas Shoulder Title Insignia Single is a period military artifact issued to members of the Fort Garry Horse regiment during the Second World War. Manufactured from khaki canvas, the insignia features the regiment’s name, “FORT GARRY HORSE,” embroidered in red thread in capital letters. It was originally intended to be worn on the upper sleeve of the service dress or battle dress uniform to identify the wearer’s unit. The Fort Garry Horse, a Canadian armoured regiment, served in a reconnaissance and armoured role during the war, participating in significant campaigns including the Normandy landings and operations in Northwest Europe. This single shoulder title provides physical evidence of individual and regimental identification within the Canadian Army. Its design, materials, and construction are consistent with standard Commonwealth insignia production of the era. This item would be of particular interest to collectors of Canadian or Second World War military insignia.
