Manufactured as part of the M1956 Load-Carrying Equipment system, this carrier is constructed from heavy-duty cotton canvas in olive drab coloration. It features reinforced stitching, a snap-flap closure for securing the entrenching tool, and an integrated metal clip on the reverse for attaching to individual equipment belts or field gear. A stamped date of 1961 and specification markings are visible on the flap or inside surface.
