Canadian Ontario Department of Lands and Forests Hunter Safety Training Instructor Patch

The Canadian Ontario Department of Lands and Forests Hunter Safety Training Instructor Patch represents official recognition for individuals certified to instruct hunting safety courses within Ontario. Issued by the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests, an agency responsible for the management and conservation of provincial natural resources prior to its integration into the Ministry of Natural Resources, this patch was typically awarded to instructors who met specific training and qualification standards. The design features the department’s name and insignia, with clear text identifying the holder as a hunter safety training instructor. Constructed from durable fabric and intended for attachment to a uniform or jacket, it served as a visible credential during educational programs and field activities. The patch reflects a period when organized hunter education became increasingly formalized in Canada, emphasizing safe and responsible practices. It remains of interest to collectors of Canadian governmental, law enforcement, and wildlife management memorabilia.
