Canadian Forces FN C1 OD Green Sling With Plastic Buckles

The Canadian Forces FN C1 OD Green Sling with Plastic Buckles is a military-issued rifle sling designed for use with the FN C1 service rifle, the Canadian version of the FN FAL. Manufactured in olive drab green (OD Green) nylon webbing, this sling is equipped with durable plastic adjustment buckles. Its construction prioritizes functionality and ease of use, allowing quick attachment and length adjustment. The sling was standard issue for Canadian military personnel during the period when the FN C1 was the principal service rifle, from the late 1950s through the late 1980s. The OD green color was chosen to provide camouflage compatibility in a variety of field environments. The use of plastic buckles represents a design progression from earlier all-metal hardware, offering reduced weight and resistance to corrosion. This item is notable for its direct association with Canada’s Cold War-era armed forces and is of interest to collectors of Commonwealth military equipment.
