The Canadian Forces 82 Pattern Compass Pouch is a standard-issue military accessory introduced as part of the Canadian Load Bearing System (CLBS), commonly known as the 82 Pattern web gear. Designed to securely hold a standard lensatic or prismatic compass, the pouch features durable olive green nylon construction with reinforced stitching for longevity in field conditions. The front flap is secured by a synthetic quick-release fastener, enabling rapid access while maintaining secure closure. A drainage grommet at the bottom permits moisture escape, reducing the risk of equipment damage. On the reverse side, two metal ALICE-style clips allow easy attachment to load-bearing vests, belts, or other webbing components, ensuring modularity within the 82 Pattern system. This pouch was widely utilized by Canadian Forces from the early 1980s through the 2000s, supporting navigation tasks in military and training operations. Its design reflects an emphasis on functionality, durability, and compatibility with contemporary Canadian military equipment.
