The British Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Staybright Cap Badge is a metal military insignia used by members of the regiment. Manufactured from anodised aluminium, commonly referred to as “Staybright,” this badge was introduced in the post-World War II period, primarily during the late 1950s onwards. The Staybright process produced a lightweight, corrosion-resistant badge with a bright finish suitable for parade and ceremonial dress. The design features a representation of the traditional bugle horn, a symbol long associated with light infantry regiments in the British Army. Above the bugle is a crown, signifying loyalty to the monarchy. The construction typically includes two slider fixings on the reverse for easy attachment to the cap. This cap badge reflects the postwar modernization of British military uniform components and marks the regimental identity of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, a unit with origins dating back to the mid-18th century.
