The WW2 German Army Stick Grenade INERT is a deactivated example of the iconic hand grenade used by German forces during the Second World War. Commonly referred to as the “potato masher” due to its distinctive shape, the stick grenade features a cylindrical metal head attached to a wooden handle. This design allowed for greater throwing distance compared to more compact hand grenades of the era. Originally, the explosive charge was housed within the metal head, while a pull-cord fuse ran through the hollow handle, activated by unscrewing the base cap and pulling the cord before throwing. This inert model retains the external features of the original, including the removable base cap and the general dimensions and markings typical of wartime issue. As a non-functional replica, it contains no explosive or combustible materials and is intended solely for collection, educational, or display purposes reflecting German military equipment from the 1939–1945 period.
