The British Northumberland Fusiliers Staybrite Cap Badge is an original military insignia issued to the regiment following the introduction of Staybrite materials in the mid-20th century. The badge is produced from anodised aluminium, providing a lightweight, durable, and corrosion-resistant finish. The design features the distinctive flaming grenade motif, central to the Northumberland Fusiliers’ regimental identity, with St. George and the dragon depicted on the central device. This cap badge was worn by personnel on the standard issue service cap, representing the regiment’s historic lineage and ceremonial tradition. The Staybrite version replaced earlier brass badges, reflecting changes in British Army uniform regulations in the 1950s and 1960s. It is fitted with a slider on the reverse for easy attachment.
