WW2 Canadian Turret Cigarettes Tin EMPTY

This is an original empty cigarettes tin marked “Turret,” produced in Canada during the period of the Second World War. The tin once contained Turret brand cigarettes, a popular choice issued or available to Canadian military personnel and civilians in the 1940s. The container is constructed from lightweight metal, finished with printed graphics that typically include the Turret logo, manufacturer’s details, and health warnings standard for the era. As with many wartime tobacco products, these tins were widely distributed among soldiers, making them common personal effects found in military collections. The tin’s dimensions, design, and production markings provide insight into Canadian manufacturing and commercial practices during wartime. This empty Turret cigarettes tin is a representative example of mid-20th-century Canadian tobacco packaging and serves as a material reminder of daily life for those involved in the Second World War both at home and on the front lines.
