This lot consists of ten original World War II-era buttons from the Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC). Formed in 1941, the CWAC was established to enable women to serve in non-combat roles within the Canadian Army. The buttons in this collection were part of the standard-issue uniform and feature brass construction with the CWAC insignia, which includes the organization’s initials and maple leaf symbolism. Each button measures approximately 22mm in diameter, with a shank back for sewing onto uniforms. These items demonstrate typical wartime manufacturing standards and are representative of those worn by Canadian servicewomen during the Second World War. The collection provides tangible evidence of the contribution and recognition of women in the Canadian military effort. This lot may be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, historians, or individuals studying Canada’s wartime history and women’s roles in the armed forces. No reproductions or fakes are included in this lot.
