British RN Navy Submariner Full Size Badge

The British Royal Navy Submariner Full Size Badge is an official insignia awarded to qualified submariners within the Royal Navy. Commonly referred to as “Dolphins,” this badge features a pair of dolphins flanking a crowned anchor, which symbolizes service beneath the waves and allegiance to naval tradition. The full size badge is typically constructed from metal and is designed to be worn on the uniform to denote completion of specialized submarine training. Since its introduction in 1972, the badge has become an important identification for personnel qualified in submarine operations. The design’s significance lies in its representation of the unique skills and responsibilities associated with submarine service. This badge is not only a mark of technical competence but also a symbol of membership in a distinct community within the Royal Navy. Collected as a piece of military history, it reflects the traditions and recognition systems of British naval forces.
