Canadian Dominion Marksmen Member Patch

The Canadian Dominion Marksmen Member Patch is an embroidered insignia awarded to members of the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association (DCRA) who participated in marksmanship activities. The patch typically features distinctive design elements, such as a target, crossed rifles, and the organization’s name or acronym, often rendered in red, white, and gold thread. These patches were conventionally sewn onto uniforms or shooting jackets to signify marksmanship achievement and membership in the DCRA. Established in 1868, the DCRA has played a significant role in the promotion of military and civilian marksmanship in Canada, with patches like this one serving as tangible recognition of involvement in national shooting competitions and training events. The item reflects both the long-standing tradition of rifle marksmanship in Canadian military history and the specific visual standards utilized by the DCRA. This patch is of interest to collectors of Canadian military memorabilia and historical insignia.
