WW2 German Eastern Front Medal Full Size Maker 88 Werner Redo

The WW2 German Eastern Front Medal was instituted by Nazi Germany to recognize military personnel who served on the Eastern Front during the harsh winter campaign of 1941–1942. This full-size example is attributed to maker “88,” denoting Werner Redo, a known and documented manufacturer of the period. The medal consists of a zinc alloy core with a silvered finish and features the obverse design of a German helmet above a crossed sword and branch, surrounded by the inscription “Winterschlacht Im Osten 1941/42” (Winter Battle in the East 1941/42). The reverse is plain, with a small raised edge. Mounting is provided via an attached loop and suspension ring, in accordance with wartime specifications.
