The WW2 Russian Soviet 60 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War Jubilee Medal is a commemorative decoration issued to mark the 60th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War. Established in 2004 by the Russian Federation, the medal was awarded to surviving veterans and certain war participants in recognition of their service between 1941 and 1945. The full-size medal is made of brass, featuring the obverse with the inscription “60 лет Победы в Великой Отечественной войне 1941–1945” (60 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945) and an image of the Order of Victory. The reverse usually carries a commemorative inscription. It is suspended from a pentagonal mount with a striped red and black ribbon, symbolizing the Ribbon of Saint George. This item represents both historical recognition and Soviet military tradition.
