The WW2 British Royal Munster Fusiliers Cap Badge is a military insignia associated with the Royal Munster Fusiliers, an infantry regiment of the British Army. This badge was typically worn on the headdress of regiment members during the Second World War. The design features the regiment’s distinctive emblem, which commonly includes a flaming grenade above a scroll inscribed with “Royal Munster Fusiliers.” Manufactured from brass or similar metal alloys, the badge measures approximately 45mm in height and is fitted with lugs or a slider on the reverse for attachment to a cap. The Royal Munster Fusiliers, originally raised in 1881, recruited primarily from the province of Munster, Ireland, and served in various campaigns until their disbandment in 1922; however, surviving cap badges were often retained and collected by former members and military enthusiasts during later years. This item serves as a representative artifact of British regimental history and military uniform design.
