The James Warner Revolver 2nd Model is an original mid-19th century percussion revolver, notable for its inclusion in early American firearms history. Manufactured by James Warner in Springfield, Massachusetts, this model was produced circa 1850s–1860s and represents the refinement of early Warner revolvers. The firearm features a six-shot revolving cylinder, with calibre typically in .28 or .31, and employs a single-action mechanism. Known for its solid-frame design and under-barrel loading lever, the 2nd Model offered improved reliability over its predecessor. The frame and barrel are constructed from iron, often with blued or browned finish, and the grips are generally fashioned from walnut. While not adopted for official military service, Warner revolvers were privately purchased and sometimes carried during the American Civil War. As an antique manufactured before 1898, this item does not require a permit for purchase in accordance with applicable legal guidelines. Suitable for historical firearms collectors and researchers.
