The WW2 German Hitler Youth Armband (Brassard) is an original piece of insignia associated with the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth), the youth organization of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party during the Third Reich. The armband is constructed from red cotton fabric and features a central white band with a woven or printed black swastika set inside a white diamond, the emblem of the Hitler Youth. Typically measuring approximately 4 inches tall and designed to be worn on the left arm, the armband was part of the standard uniform and served to identify members during official functions, rallies, and activities. Variations in materials, stitching, and construction methods reflect the different periods and manufacturers. Items such as this played a role in reinforcing the organizational identity and authority of the Hitler Youth, which was established in 1926 and grew significantly during World War II. This artifact is representative of youth-related insignia from wartime Germany.
