Canadian Queen Elizabeth the 2nd Coronation Medal Full Size

The Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal (Full Size) was issued in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. This medal was awarded to select individuals throughout the Commonwealth, including Canadian military personnel and civilians, in recognition of their service. The full-size version features a circular silver disc measuring approximately 32mm in diameter. The obverse displays the crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, surrounded by the inscription “QUEEN ELIZABETH II CROWNED 2nd JUNE 1953.” The reverse depicts the Royal Cypher EIIR surmounted by a crown and encircled by the inscription “CORONATION • CANADA.” The medal is suspended from a ribbon of dark red with two narrow blue stripes toward each edge, reflecting the colors of the Union Flag. The Canadian issue is identical in design to other Commonwealth versions, with only minor differences in presentation. This item represents a significant commemorative decoration in Canadian and Commonwealth history.
